PC Vet 100gm powder

PRESENTATION :

Each 100 gm PC Vet powder contains 100 gm piperazine

citrate USP.

INDICATION :

PC Vet is indicated for the treatment of infections

produced by nematoda, sensitive to piperazine, namely

ascaris, oxyuris, some strongyloides and trichuris. It is

safely active against all adult forms as well as against

some evolutive stages of worms where it is found to be a

drug of first choice.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION :

It can be administered with any dry or liquid food. All kinds

of food and liquid should be sloped before 12 hours of

starting medication.

Poultry: 10 gm powder in 6-8 litre of water or in 3.5 kg

of food and should be used for 2 days. It should be used

for a single day after 4-6 weeks by following the same

order.

Cattle, Buffalo and Horse : 10-25 gm/100 kg body

weight.

Sheep and Goat : 3-5 gm/1 0 kg body weight.

Dog and Cat : 100-150 mg/1 kg body weight.

CONTRAINDICATION :

The drug is contraindicated for the patients with a history

of piperazine hypersensitivity or patients with renal failure.

USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION :

The safety of piperazine for use during pregnancy and

lactation has not been determined. Studies in animal

demonstrated teratogenesis in rabbits given high doses

of piperazine but not in rats.

SIDE EFFECT :

Nausea, vomiting, colic, diarrhoea, transie~t headache,

dizziness, urticaria, fever and viral hepatitis like disorder

may occur.

PRECAUTION :

Keep out of reach of children, cool and dry place & away.

from light. All medications should be dispensed according

to the prescription of the registered veterinary physicians

and should be administered with dry food or liquid.
